Annual Wimberley Arts Fest just keeps growing!
Seven Years of Experience
Wimberley Valley Art League has been hosting this festival for seven continuous years and each year it just keeps getting bigger and better. We'd like to think we know what we are doing by now, and we try to keep this a high quality, well produced event that benefits artists and the public.
Huge Crowds Expected
The emphasis this year has been on bringing in lots of visitors. So we are teaming up with the EmilyAnn Theatre and Gardens who are hosting their annual Butterfly Festival on April 18th. Thousands of butterflies are released and cheered on by about 7,000 people. We'll have free shuttle service running between Arts Fest and the Butterfly Festival so visitors can easily take in both celebrations.
Terrific Natural Venue
Blue Hole is celebrated throughout Texas as a swimming hole treasure. Who wouldn't want to come and spend the day in a setting like this? And it only gets better with live music, food booths and food trucks, wine and beer bar, and much more.
Public Sculpture Celebration
In 2014, Wimberley Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance put on a public sculpture program called Bootiful Wimberley. Thirty six-foot fiberglass boots were painted and otherwise embellished by artists and placed around town. At Arts Fest, we will be showing the next twenty boots for the first time and the town will definitely show up to get a preview and party. Expect it to draw 500 or more folks!
“The deadline for artists to register for booth space is now expired,” says Stan Allen, a co-director of 2015 Arts Fest.
“It looks like we have artists coming from 17 states, and from 40 Texas cities. Should be a good, diverse group.”
